Recruitment
Current Recruitment Status
- Social members : Open
- Raiding members: See the box to the left of this message
However, UK is always recruiting! If you feel UK is the right guild for you and that you can strengthen our roster then we will always consider you no matter your class.
Former members of UK can approach an officer about membership. Members’ real life friends/family should make initial contact via that member. An application on the forums will still be required once the initial request to join UK has been established.
We were one of the top non-hardcore guilds on Splitpaw for TSO progression and are aiming for the same in SF. You an check our current progress on the TSO progression thread and the SF progression thread on EQ2Flames, or by looking at the raid progression details on the left hand side of this page.
Applying to join UK
Firstly, please create an account on the forums in the name of your main character (please don’t use guest )
Secondly, please read the guild charter which contains the guild rules! These are the player requirements we expect in regards of behaviour of our members to each other and other players on the server.
Four basic requirements:
- Your character must meet any class specific entry requirements shown in the recruitment status at the top of this page. If you do not meet the requirements but still wish to express an interest in joining at a later date please feel free to post an application.
- You may not belong to any other guild when applying or while having any characters in UK. This rule applies to any alts you have as well. You must confirm this is the case in your application
- Characters played by multiple people are frowned upon and you must disclose if anyone else has access to your character.
- If your application is successful you will serve a probationary period with the guild before becoming a full member. You will be expected to group with members of UK during your probation to enable them to provide positive feedback to the guild. We have no intention of just recruiting blindly.
Your Application
If you are happy with the above requirements then please make a new post in the applications forum, using the example template. Alternatively you can PM your application to an officer if you prefer.
Applications are one of those evil necessities when looking to join our guild although we try and make it as painless as possible.
If you would like to speak to an officer please try to contact Actoba, the current recruitment officer. If they are not online feel free to ask any member of UK to give you the name of an officer who is online or try to contact one through the ingame recruitment tool. They should be able to answer any general questions you may have.
The probationary period is generally 4 weeks long. After the first 2 weeks we invite feedback and a pass or fail vote on you from the full members of the guild. The probationary period can be extended at the discretion of the officers.
Note that players will not be given an invite unless they post an application on the forum.
During Probation
UK operates a feedback system where the current guild members are invited to offer feedback and/or vote on potential new recruits during their probation. This feedback however can only be provided following the completion of the minimum 2 week period. Once the initial 2 week period has passed the guild members can and will be providing feedback on you and how you fit in with the guild. They will also be voting on whether you should be accepted as a full member and it’s their feedback which will ultimately decide whether you pass or fail probation. As such we would encourage new recruits to try to be active during their probation period. Recruits will be able to see their feedback thread and voting progress but will not be allowed to post any comments or vote themselves. Guild members are also allowed to provide private feedback to officers should they wish and this will not be posted in the application thread.
If you reach the maximum 4 weeks of probation and you have not secured enough positive feedback and at least 8 pass votes from the guild then this will mean that you have failed probation. As mentioned above though, the officers can extend probation beyond the initial 4 weeks should circumstances dictate. You should note that the voting from the guild will only pass you for guild membership. If you apply as a raid member your raid status is assesed privately by the officer/raid leader team. It is possible for you to pass for guild membership and either fail or have an extended raid trial. People failing raid trial but passing for guild membership are likely (but not guaranteed) to be offered social membership at the discretion of the officers
Of course we also understand that the probationary period is just as much about you checking to see if UK is a good fit for you as it is about UK checking to see if you’d fit in with us. With that in mind, we understand if people decide during their probation that UK isnt for them (even though we’re like totally awesome and stuff!
) and decide to leave. Similarly we’d hope that anyone who does apply but does not pass probation would appreciate that it may just be that they didnt feel right for UK and wasn’t necessarily due to any problem or issue.
